Project Worker - Part Time

Savernake Road, Chelmsford

£11.03

32, 30 and 27 hours per week available, including bank holidays, evenings and weekends

We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Chelmsford Homelessness Supported Housing is comprised of 26 bedrooms in shared houses, spread across two locations in Chelmsford. We provide support for adults aged 18 to 65, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The role of Project Worker will include:

Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided to encourage our residents to maximise their own potential and level of independence
Assessing the needs of our residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
Offering housing-related support
Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:

Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents' independence to be enhanced
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable
