Here at Babcock International Group in Rosyth we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our Engineering, Specialised Manufacturing, Gas Handling Systems and Naval Marine business streams.

We are looking for an experienced HSE to join Babcock Marine as a Site safety practitioner, to support supply chain, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidance & site health, safety & environmental policies/procedures/standards.

Accountabilities

The post holder is accountable to the Health & Safety Manager.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities

Assist the HS&E manager in maximising the utilisation of all the safety and Environmental practitioner resource.
Maintain and continually develop the Babcock Marine - Rosyth Safety Management System in order to ensure it is comprehensive and up to date with legislative requirements and business needs.
Support the review of Health, Safety and Environmental policies/processes/standards.
To provide professional advice and support to the operational areas regarding practical application of safety processes and proactive safety approach.
Undertake workplace inspections to identify hazards, determine ways of reducing risks, ensure adherence to risk assessment and best practice.

The experience you will bring

HNC or Equivalent in relevant discipline
To have successfully achieved training in Occupational Health and Safety Management, working towards NEBOSH or BSC Diploma level or equivalent ( such as NVQ level 5 etc)
Desirable: having attended either ISO 18001 or ISO45001 internal or lead auditor training.
