HOURS OF DUTY: You will alternate weekly on the following shift pattern:
Dayshift: Monday to Friday, 6am - 2.30pm
Backshift: Monday to Thursday, 2pm - 10.30pm

ROLE SUMMARY
Assisting the Engineering Leader in providing the Company with an electrical and mechanical engineering service to safely maintain, install and modify plant and equipment to the necessary standards required. You will utilize your excellent problem-solving skills and superior electrical and mechanical knowledge to provide services to ensure that all equipment and production machinery remain functional. You will rely on your ability to multi-task as you work in a fast-paced environment to keep our company operational.
This role will build on your technical skills as you work closely with team members, handling jobs in an efficient manner and determining which ones to prioritize. Your organizational skills will also be required to ensure that you have enough supplies to handle routine maintenance tasks and can quickly get other supplies as needed to reduce downtime.

DUTIES

Inspect on a routine basis electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure they remain functional and are up to standard, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used.
Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment and other components so that they remain at full-functioning capacity.
Test systems with relevant devices to ensure they remain safe and that components are compatible.
Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
Provide suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.
Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
Maintain all plant and equipment according to department operating procedures.
Respond to all breakdowns safely and effectively with minimum production loss.
Attend and support daily Engineering Tier 1 meetings
Comply fully with company safety policy remembering the department's responsibility for the safety of others.
Be familiar with any new equipment and to participate in all relevant training programmes to maintain the necessary skill levels to handle changing technology.
Install new plant and equipment to current regulations and standards.
Keep an accurate log of breakdowns, service and shift reports using Maintenance Software
Liaise closely with Production Personnel to advise on potential problems with safety and quality of product relating to BSEN ISO 9002.
Be aware of the need for secrecy and security of all Company products and developments.
Promote good housekeeping in immediate work area and in maintenance workshop and stores
Account for all store items used
Give the Engineering and Production Leaders the best in loyalty, co-operation and help at all times.
Observe Company procedures, instructions and rules.
Undertake as required any other appropriate duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years' experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance or associated work
Relevant electrician certifications
Strong verbal and oral communication skills
Proven problem-solving skills
