We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Mechanical Commissioning Engineers (Waste Systems, HVAC & NSSS) to join our established team based in Bristol. Scope

Reporting to the discipline Lead, Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will be responsible for the production and/or surveillance of a set of deliverables:

* Platform Test Procedure (PTP) and its related study file aiming at validating I&C functions at test bay for the operational control system (SPPA-T2000 S7)

* Sufficiency Analysis Note (SAN) and its related study file demonstrating the proper test coverage of the safety functions assigned to a system

* System Commissioning Programme (SCP) and its related study file

* Commissioning Procedures (CP) and its related study file

These activities are based on design documentation, engineering methods, standards, and processes as well as commissioning documentation and feedback from other nuclear projects.

To achieve this, the Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will be involved in the following process phases:

Preparatory phase

* Confirming project data and internal organisation set-up with the discipline Lead (budget, time schedule, author - checker - approver)

* Checking the maturity of the input data against RC2 CS2 configuration and/or upcoming changes. Collecting OPEX (Operating Experience & Learning)

* Recording risks in the related register and proposing mitigation plan(s) if any. Arranging pre-job briefs / kick-off meetings and opening the Study File.

Execution phase

* Producing the deliverables in compliance with the engineering procedures and considering OPEX from other EPR projects

* Ensuring deliverables are checked by relevant parties and resolving outstanding issues/comments

* Surveying subcontractor commissioning deliverables with respect to project standards

* Updating the study file as tasks evolve. Supporting I&C function tests (PTP) at test bay (France) including test result assessment

Monitoring phase

* Reporting progress: time schedule & budget and updating risk register on a need basis

Close out phase

* Ensuring approval of deliverables by relevant parties without comments (PTP, SAN, SCP and CP)

* Issuing the PTP related test reports and demonstrating the expected I&C function test coverage

* Storing both the above-mentioned deliverables and associated study files in the EDMS

Qualifications and Knowledge

Successful Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will have previously obtained or be working towards the following:

* Master's degree in Engineering (in the absence of a Master's degree in Engineering, significant qualifications in a relevant field with highly relevant work experience).

Demonstrable work experience

We would expect ideal candidates to have had exposure/experience in the following:

* Significant engineering experience on major/high value projects within the Power Generation or Process Industries Sector with commissioning procedure/test familiarity

* Experience of the drafting of mechanical and monitoring equipment testing guideline, procedures/instructions.

* Functional knowledge of BNI systems

* Knowledge of the British codes and standards applicable to these systems

* Ability to understand and read I&C logic diagrams

* Transverse coordination activities involving other internal/external stakeholder - Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, I&C and Suppliers

Your Skills, Abilities and Behaviours

In order to succeed, our Consultants should be able to demonstrate:

* Excellent communication skills. These roles will require significant customer interface which means that applicants must communicate in English (verbal and written) at a highly proficient business level. French language/written skills are desirable but not essential - not a deal-breaker!

* Strong organisational flare and the ability to achieve all requirements to time, cost and quality requirements

* Active listening and communication to ensure tasks are well understood and communicated to management thereby building strong work relationships and trust within teams.
