Job description
We're one of the world's leading industrial technology companies, and it's all thanks to our people. They're the reason we've created a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where you can do your best work and feel like you belong.
At Rolls-Royce, we pioneer cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet our planet's vital energy needs. We believe in the transforming potential of technology to protect our planet, secure our world and explore our universe. That's why we're helping lead the way in the transition to a net zero-carbon future for us all.
We have the expertise. We have the creativity, courage and agility. All we need now is the next generation of leaders to help us shape and drive our business forward.
What you'll do on the programme
This accelerated programme is all about creating our future leaders and we'll provide the range of experiences and develop your skills and interests to become just that. This could include working with customers or supply chain, procurement, strategy, innovation, government relationships, commercial and contracts. You could be involved in sales opportunities and contract negotiations. Or you could find yourself helping purchase the parts for a highly efficient jet engine, a building or IT system.
You could even have the opportunity to support our commercial teams, where we've just opened the world's largest and smartest indoor aerospace testbed. Across all of this, you'll focus on building strong connections with our partners, suppliers and customers.
And most importantly, you'll have the flexibility to curate your own experience and develop your understanding of the opportunities within our business, before you specialise in an area of expertise.
You'll be aligned to one of our business area(s), Civil Aerospace, Defence, Business Services, IT or Innovation Hub. The first year of the programme is designed to broadly develop your skills. You'll choose rotational 'gigs', moving from team to team and project to project. We want to inspire you and give you as many options as possible at this early stage of your career. It's all about growth, and how you we can help you find the best fit.
During your 24 months on programme, you'll gain invaluable insight into the scope and variety of the work we do. And, with a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training and development, you'll see your ideas come to life with help and guidance from industry experts. People who are as invested in your success as you are.
You'll be supported by your very own mentor, whose job it is to help you realise your full potential - not just on the programme, but beyond. You'll feel included, developed, recognised and motivated to succeed. At Rolls-Royce, we're committed to a culture of continuous learning and we'll draw up a framework based on your interests, aspirations and goals.
What you'll need to be successful
This programme is all about potential and we're open to degrees in any subject. What's most important to us is that you live and breathe our values (Trust, Integrity and Safety) and behaviours (Agile, Bold, Collaborative and Simple) and want to shape the future of our business.
You'll be as passionate as we are about the future of sustainable power and believe in changing lives for the better. You'll need to be open-minded, curious, collaborative and agile in your approach to solving problems and in developing the skills to bring the best out in the people around you.
It's also important that you're flexible about where you work and are willing to travel between locations if required. We'll also ask you to consider the area you would prefer to work in - Civil Aerospace, Defence, Submarines, Business Services, Innovation Hub or Group IT, so think about how your degree or skills or interests could benefit one of those areas.
What you'll get in return
You'll be a full-time employee, working on real projects and making a real difference from day one. That's why we make sure you're properly rewarded for the work you do.
- 33 days' annual leave including bank holidays
- Bonus schemes
- A choice of voluntary benefits including employee discounts at nationwide stores, discounted health care, life assurance and more
- A competitive pension
- Tax-effective share plans
- An enhanced maternity scheme and family friendly policies
- A brilliant Cycle to Work scheme
- An independent, 24-hour, confidential counselling service
The way we see it, being your best shouldn't come at the expense of being yourself. At Rolls-Royce, creating an environment where everyone is heard, respected and valued is crucial to our success. It's a fundamental part of who we are as an organisation. We're taking deliberate action to increase the diversity of our teams through policies and practices that celebrate the thoughts, experiences and qualities which make us all unique.
At Rolls-Royce, we recruit graduates based on merit, and regardless of age, disability, gender identity or expression, race/colour/nationality/ethnic or national origins, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by applicable legislation.
Assessment centres for our graduate roles begin in November.
