Job description

We're one of the world's leading industrial technology companies, and it's all thanks to our people. They're the reason we've created an open, inclusive and supportive environment where you can do your best work and feel like you belong.

At Rolls-Royce, we pioneer cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet our planet's vital energy needs. We believe in the transforming potential of technology to protect our planet, secure our world and explore our universe. That's why we're helping lead the way in the transition to a net zero-carbon future for us all.

We have the expertise. We have the creativity, courage and agility. All we need now is the next generation of STEM graduate talent to help us achieve our ambitions.

What you'll do on the programme

You'll work across the full Rolls-Royce product and service lifecycle, getting the chance to work in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing or service support. That could mean anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping pioneer the future of electric flight with the air taxis of the near future, to using data, technology and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment.

It will mean building an engine from scratch as part of your practical project, with the help of experts in the industry. People who are as invested in your success as you are.

You'll be aligned to one of our business areas, Civil Aerospace, Defence, IT or Innovation Hub and choose rotational 'gigs', moving across teams and projects gathering experiences across Digital & Data, Electrical, Manufacturing, Design and Systems Integration. We want to give you as many options as possible at this early stage of your career. It's all about growth, and how we can help you find the best fit.

Depending on your level of experience and the path you take, the Engineering and Technology Programme will take between 12 to 24 months. During that time, you'll gain invaluable insight into the scope and variety of the work we do and where you want to take your career with us. And, with a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training and development, your ideas will come to life in real and meaningful ways.

You'll be supported by your very own mentor, whose job it is to help you realise your full potential - not just on the programme, but beyond. You'll feel included, developed, recognised and motivated to succeed. At Rolls-Royce we're committed to a culture of continuous learning. We'll draw up a framework based on your interests, aspirations and goals. This could include supporting you in obtaining a relevant professional qualification further down the line.

What you'll need to be successful

Any STEM degree, with subjects directly related to our work - or a joint honours degree that combines a STEM subject with another like business or economics.

You must be flexible about where you work and be open to travelling between locations if required. We'll also ask you to consider the area you would prefer to work in - Civil Aerospace, Defence, Submarines, Innovation Hub or Group IT, so think about how your degree or skills could benefit one of those areas.

You'll also need to be as passionate as we are about the world of technology. You'll need to believe in the future of sustainable power and its potential to change lives for the better. You'll need to be open-minded, curious, collaborative and agile in your approach to solving problems.

What you'll get in return

You'll be a full-time employee, working on real projects and making a real difference from day one. That's why we make sure you're properly rewarded for the work you do.

  • 33 days' annual leave including bank holidays
  • Bonus schemes
  • A choice of voluntary benefits including employee discounts at nationwide stores, discounted health care, life assurance and more
  • A competitive pension
  • Tax-effective share plans
  • An enhanced maternity scheme and family friendly policies
  • A brilliant Cycle to Work scheme
  • An independent, 24-hour, confidential counselling service
Feel like you belong

The way we see it, being your best shouldn't come at the expense of being yourself.

At Rolls-Royce, creating an environment where everyone is heard, respected and valued is crucial to our success. It's a fundamental part of who we are as an organisation. We're taking deliberate action to increase the diversity of our teams through policies and practices that celebrate the thoughts, experiences and qualities which make us all unique.

At Rolls-Royce, we recruit graduates based on merit, and regardless of age, disability, gender identity or expression, race/colour/nationality/ethnic or national origins, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by applicable legislation.

Assessment centres for our graduate roles begin in November.
