As a Support Worker, you will be a point of contact for those who need the extra help. By doing so, you will learn vital life skills, as well as creating a fairer and more accessible world for those you care for.

Whether you see this as a starting point to a high-flying career, working for a charitable organisation or just love the idea of getting paid to make a difference, we want you at Milestones Trust!

Your responsibilities will include:

• To encourage positive self-image and maintain health and wellbeing.

• Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.

• House admin when required, this will be communicated to you by the management team within the service.

• Deep cleaning in line with infection control requirements.

• Minimal Moving and Handling.

Mulberry House is a spacious detached bungalow that offers 24-hour support to people with a range of complex needs and learning disabilities.

As part of your induction, we require you to initially work 2 weeks on day shifts to build positive relationships with the people we support and get to know the service. All training is carried out during the day and must be met in order to complete probation.

Plus training days (including probation meetings, supervisions, team meetings) should be expected to be carried out during the days to enable the successful candidate to keep in touch with understanding the service as a whole and to reinforce positive cultures. This will average roughly one day a month outside of the initial 2 week induction period.

The successful Support Worker will:

• Have excellent communication skills.

• Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature.

• Ideally have some experience within a care setting. However, as training will be provided, this is not essential.
