Job description
£10 per hour plus £500 Welcome Bonus and pay enhancements for short notice shifts
37.5 hours per week
London Road (Byways) is a happy home, where the staff team are welcoming and supportive. The staff at Byways promote dignity and respect, encouraging independence and inclusion for all, allowing the people we support enjoy activities both in and out of the home. Staff are committed to helping people with learning disabilities and dementia to live rich, meaningful lives.
We currently support 8 adults with learning disabilities to achieve their daily goals. To do so, we provide access to the community, allowing people to participate in the clubs and activities of their choice.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team, who is committed to the care and support of vulnerable adults.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
• To encourage positive self-image and maintain health and wellbeing.
• Assisting with decision-making and promoting independence.
• Support people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
• Provide access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports club, social events and creative endeavours.
The successful Support Worker will:
• Be enthusiastic, patient and have a caring and tolerant nature.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Hold a full UK Drivers Licence and be able to drive service vehicle.
• Be able to work flexibly across all shifts, including some weekends.
• Experience is preferred.
