Job description

In a world where technology is ever present and information is a key part in all that we do in both our personal and working lives, our mission is to deliver an IT service that enables our customers and colleagues to do business easily, securely and efficiently. Our IT department works with the business to design and deliver innovative technology solutions, ensuring that Allianz remains at the forefront of the insurance sector

Our IT function covers a variety of aspects from Information and Cyber Security to Strategy and Architecture, Change delivery to Service Management, and much more, including regularly working with our global entities, providing a wider view of Allianz than just the UK. The customer, whether internal or external, is at the heart of all we do. We make IT simple, secure and effective.

This year placement offers you the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, as well as understand how an insurance business operates from within. This, coupled with amazing support from your Line Manager and the rest of the team, will give you invaluable insight into what it takes to be part of a large UK business; you'll be part of something big from day one. This will set you up with knowledge and skills for your final year at University and future career after graduation.

We are looking for proactive, self-motivated, strong communicating and analytical students who have a keen interest in IT, operations and the insurance industry. Your year with us would start at the end of June/start of July 2022, based in our head office in Guildford. As well as being paid a competitive salary you will also be entitled to paid holiday and many other benefits. Applicants will not be required to apply for a specific role, as we will assess each candidates skill sets in the interview stages and will then determine which placement role will suit each candidate best.

What we look for:

  • Studying an honours degree, ideally in areas of Computer Science , IT, Information Security, Computing in Business or Business and Systems.
  • On target for a 2:1 level or above
  • Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
