Job description

Our client, Legal & General, are looking for an Asset Services Specialist to join their Operations department to ensure that all income payments flagged due to tax breaks are resolved, whilst also offering support to the processing team/external parties on all taxation related queries.

Principal Requirements

  • Actively monitoring any income payments flagged due to tax breaks, identifying the cause of the discrepancy, and taking steps to resolve/escalate is required.
  • Maintaining system data to ensure all future income events are generated reflecting the correct tax both recoverable and treaty rates in line with current treaties, monitoring for any future changes and reflecting accordingly.
  • Completion of tax documents as and when required.
  • Reconciling cash breaks, raising any issues with appropriate custodians if any discrepancies should arise with reclaim accruals and tax adjustments.
  • Acting as first point of contact for tax queries, internal and external, providing assistance in a timely manner.
  • Performing system reconciliations on a regular basis, ensuring all reclaims are generating correctly and all clients are achieving correct tax rates.

Requirements

  • Relevant operational tax related background with experience in income processing.
  • Someone who is dynamic, flexible, and able to multitask changing their work style to fit the needs of the team.
  • Collaborative and provides a personalised approach to service commitment, delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to understand issues and assist with finding innovative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with an ability to successfully articulate issues clearly and logically.
  • Experience of challenging working practices and adaptability to change.
  • Evidence of effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and written skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with ability to perform calculations/create/maintain macros would be a bonus.

Additional Information

  • Initially a temporary contract for 52 weeks, with a view to extend.
  • Day rate of up to £250 (dependent on experience and inside of IR35).
  • This is a hybrid position; therefore, we are looking for someone who would be happy to split their time between working from home and the L&G office in London.
