Assistant Development Manager - Residential Developer - East London - Up to £40,000 + Package

I am currently recruiting on behalf of an award-winning residential developer who is looking to attract an ambition Junior Assistant Development Manager to join their growing team. This role will cover the East London area and involve helping to manage a residential led, 750 units housing development.

My client is to train up and build and Assistant Development Manager through the business as they teach you all aspects of the design and planning process as well as financial modelling through to the point that the project moves into full production.

You will liaise and help manage teams of consultants (including planning consultants, architects and solicitors) and be responsible for ensuring that these teams deliver the agreed outcomes. In addition you will carry out reports whilst making sure that the correct information is included from other departments within the business. Once planning has been approved, you will help establish and implement a robust handover strategy to the Delivery Team.

Below are a few of the responsibilities you will pick up as you become a more competent rounded Assistant Development Manager.

* Prepare a comprehensive Design Brief to correspond with Market Research and conditions

* Appoint external consultants where necessary to meet procurements programme

* Liaises and consults with local authority planners and submits applications in conjunction with in house planning department and ensures planning conditions are met.

* Monitors budgets on a monthly basis or more frequently where necessary

* Obtain corporate approvals in accordance with procedures I.e. planning pack, budget pack and start on site checklist.

* Briefs sales and legal teams on project particulars necessary for the disposal of completed dwelling and associated development

* Arranges sales of freehold reversionary interests appoints management agents and sets up management companies as appropriate.

* Attend and contributes to weekly development team meetings and monthly management meetings

The role would suit a Junior Assistant Development manager or someone with experience in one of the function of development I.e. Planning, Financial analyst or Junior QS who either comes from a developer background or from a RSL or PQS who is looking to have a significant involvement in the development of a high profile project and is looking to receive training to have a bigger overall involvement within development function.
