Job description

As an Assistant Tax Manager, you will be joining the global tax team in a multinational energy business. The role centres around international tax advice and support on various projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide clear, practical and business focused advice on the tax implications of projects and tenders.
• Manage overseas tax enquiries and tax audits, and ensure that all dealings with tax authorities are conducted in an open and professional manner.
• Design and implement tax processes to ensure compliance obligations are met, tax risks identified and addressed, and appropriate records are maintained.
• Coordinate with legal and finance teams on specific projects, including financing, cash repatriation, acquisitions and disposals.
• Review local tax returns prior to submission, providing technical input.
• Act as a cost-effective liaison with external advisers on advisory matters.

Qualifications/Experience required:

• CTA, Advanced Diploma of International Tax, or equivalent tax qualification
• ACA or equivalent accounting qualification is beneficial
• Previous experience working in an accounting or legal practice with a focus upon international tax advisory services, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience with the tax regimes of emerging markets highly desirable
