Our leading Government client is seeking to recruit an AWS/AZURE INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT
£650/DAY INSIDE IR35
6 months
100% REMOTE HOME BASED
Experience
- Significant experience of complex IT programme and service architecture involving dependency management and multi-supplier deliveries in a technical architecture capacity.
- Strong hands-on experience and knowledge of at least one public cloud solution ecosystem or hands-on experience and knowledge of at least one technology area (such as networking, device management or identity) coupled with a broad understanding of the range of technologies which may be selected from to deliver required capabilities.
- Experience of designing and building cloud architectures (ideally across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) in support of IT programme and projects.
In this role you will:
- Design logical and physical components of Infrastructure architectures that will enable the delivery of the required business outcome and service.
- Assure the work of other colleagues and suppliers, challenging and escalating when necessary.
- Provide leadership and mentoring by exemplifying architectural best practice.
- Effectively communicate and build strong working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create appropriate formal architecture products, including and not limited to, enabling traceability, and supporting the development of corporate knowledge for ongoing support.
Technical
- Bridging the gap between the technical and non-technical
- You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- You can work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
- Governance
- You can evolve and define governance and take responsibility for collaborating and supporting services in wider governance.
- You know how to assure services delivered by technical architects across sets of services.
- Making and guiding decisions
- You can make decisions characterised by medium levels of risk and complexity and recommend decisions as risk and complexity increase.
- You can build consensus between services or independent stakeholders.
- Strategy
- You can define and challenge strategies, patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps, and vision statements.
- You can provide proactive advice and guidance for their definition across the organisation.
- Turning business problems into technical design
- You can design systems characterised by high levels of risk, impact and business or technical complexity.
- You have a practical understanding of architectural models, delivery methodologies and ways of working.
- You can prove, pilot, and learn new technologies and keep up to date with industry best-practice, external disruptors and adapt accordingly.
- Understanding the whole context
- You can understand trends and practices within the broader organisation and how these will impact on your work. This includes understanding the technical implications of delivering to on premise infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid environments, along with the associated economics.
- You can look for deeper underlying problems and opportunities and anticipate problems before they occur.
- You can identify the impact of changes to policy.
- You can look beyond the immediate technical problem and identify the wider implications, knowing the relevant historical context and future impact; as well as looking for deeper underlying problems and opportunities.
