Role: AWS Platform Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote Working

Duration: 6 months rolling

Overview:

• An exciting opportunity has opened for a skilled AWS Platform Engineer to join us on a contract basis with an immediate start. You will be working in a SCRUM team with individual responsibilities; our client is a large retail company which is currently undergoing a large transformation/integration process.

Key Essential Skills:

• Hands-on experience in Serverless Services on AWS( API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, SES, Dynamodb, Aurora)
• Hands-on experience in Infrastructure as a code tool (cloudformation, terraform) and configuration management tool ( Ansible)
• Strong knowledge in provisioning and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong knowledge in logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc)
• Hands-on experience in writing Jenkins Pipeline scripts (Declarative or Scripted) and other CI/CD tools(Sonarqube, Nexus, Clair, Vault, etc)
• Over 7 years of experience in a similar role

Desirable Skills:

• Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems at scale
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Role & Responsibilities:

• Set-up and support development of continuous build/integration infrastructure
• Analyse and Implement solutions that improve the cluster security, scalability and availability of the applications
• Ensuring availability, performance, security and scalability of AWS production systems.
• Deployment, automation, management and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
• Configure Serverless Services on AWS based on the technical/business requirements
