Job description

A leading Tier 1 Contractor with a turnover of ovr £100 millon is seeking a young sharp driven Business Development/Events Coordiantor to join their team on a full time basis.

Some of the key responsibiities include

The Business Development & Events Assistant will support the Sales Team by managing corporate events, researching new clients and potential work providers, cold calling contacts to generate leads, and representing the business and generating their own network of contacts.

Events Coordination

* Book venues and hospitality

* Negotiate fees, demonstrate best value, and ensure events stay within budget and sense check spend

* Create event plans, including risk register for each event

* Visit venues and request samples to ensure best quality

* Work with Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator to develop invitations and event branding

* Dispatch invitations and manage attendees list

* Be on site for start of events to ensure set up is correct, e.g., catering, name badges, place settings, meet and greet, cloakrooms

* Ensure attending staff are briefed in advance of events and that adequate support is arranged e.g. Information Managers / Venue Staff

* Produce a monthly internal event newsletter

* Enter details of events and onto CRM

* Maintain and update hospitality lists and record invitations on CRM

* Liaise with Marketing Team on national events and branding for events

* Manage marketing budges

Telesales

* Research appropriate client contacts and develop campaign lists

* Contact potential or existing clients and consultants to follow up leads and generate new opportunities

* Direct prospects to BDMs and set up meetings

* Log calls, notes, opportunities and actions on CRM

* Manage leads list and chase forthcoming leads with clients and consultants

Business Development

* Attend business events and build personal contacts

* Act as a brand ambassador representative at junior events such as YEP and FFT, feed any opportunities to BDMs to identify approach

* Read industry press to build knowledge, identify leads or useful information for BDMs and Board Report

Other

* Contribute to monthly board report

* Contribute to annual sales and marketing plan

* Provide holiday cover for Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator

* Sales team support as required

The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar sort of role within the construction industry.

Must be enthusiastic and wanting to learn and build his/her own network
