Job description

Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.

This is a great opportunity to draw on all your campaigning know-how and your belief in effective communications to support our project work in core programme areas.

You will join a team working towards the successful achievement of campaign objectives in an issue-based area such as Forests, Oceans, Oil and Plastics. Making an active contribution to everything from strategic and tactical development to the immediate delivery of agreed projects, it will be a key part of your role to ensure the well-researched and leveraged communication of campaign issues.

You'll have

Knowledge and experience of campaigning and an understanding of how campaigning can achieve change.
Understanding of the importance of the role of communications in campaigning, with the ability to devise innovative, high quality communication in campaigns.
Understanding of the importance of direct action in campaigning, and/or public communication and engagement activities, use of traditional/new media, political/corporate work, and use of science/the law.
Ability to analyse environmental issues in terms of campaign opportunities and overall strategic objectives.
Ability to manage external consultants, volunteers and staff, and to plan, manage and report on the progress of projects.

You'll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it's like to work for us and why you should apply.

We are happy to consider flexible working requests as part of the recruitment process.
