As Campaigns and Mobilisation Officer (Food Security), you will play a key role changing community perceptions of food insecurity through building campaigns that focus on the drivers of poverty. Alongside this they will be responsible for supporting service users to share their stories and ideas with decision makers, so to enable them to work together to find better solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

To support service users to become decision makers
To influence local communities and faith groups to tackle the drivers of food insecurity
To build campaigns on and off line to share a vision of ending the need for foodbanks
To build a coalition of partners to challenge the drivers of poverty

Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):

Experience of community organising or managing volunteers
Experience of traditional and online campaigning
Strong people skills - communication and cooperation
Self-motivated and calm under pressure

Desirable knowledge/expertise

Personal experience of financial / food insecurity
Experience of the voluntary and community sector
Experience of working across a spectrum of faith groups
