Job Description
Capital Markets Programme/Project Manager will join the centralized business function operating at a strategic level to provide enterprise wide oversight of projects, this ensures strategic alignment between business objectives and projects executed. This oversight includes;
- Governance, guidance, best practice, mentoring and up-skilling of project managers from other departments and BAU staff
- Implementation of a standard enterprise wide project framework including tools, templates and standardized processes
- Responsible for a number of assigned team projects that have different drivers and deliverables with varying deadlines and priorities.
- Responsible for ensuring all team assigned projects follow the Group Project Management Methodology and procedures and provides guidance to drive projects towards successful outcomes
- Communicate and educate other areas and project resources across the EMEA Group as appropriate to make them aware of the standards and methodology. Leverage shared resources where possible
- Monitor the delivery of the team's firm wide projects as planned against the required methodology, standards, timeframe and budget
- Responsible for the delivery of assigned and managed projects, partnering with the Business, Subject Matter Experts, Internal IT and 3rd party vendor resources where required to ensure successful delivery
- Manage several resources which may include Programme and Project Managers, Business Analysts and Project Analysts
- Accountable for managing assigned project lifecycle and budget in line with the banks Project Management Methodology, consistently demonstrating sound judgement and ownership of the project process and ensuring that all deliverables are aligned with the appropriate legal entity objectives and commensurate with the business profile
- Responsible for achieving appropriate governance and transparency for team projects so that the appropriate oversight and reporting is achieved
- Responsible for the consolidated reporting of the relevant project portfolio(s).
- Identify potential project and programme risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concern. Influence and escalate where necessary, identify where business engagement is low, any impact or delay project deliverables, and ensure appropriate escalation through project escalation chains including Project Sponsor, SteerCo and appropriate governance committees/forum
- Recognize and rapidly adapt to ongoing change during managed projects. Ensure that internal and external impacts are documented including impact on existing policies and associated procedures, work alongside PMs to formulate suitable mitigation plans and ensure all updates are completed across impacted areas.
- Ensure projects are properly documented throughout the project lifecycle including hand-over to BAU
- Conduct post project reviews, ensuring that any issues or "lessons learnt" are appropriately managed and communicated
- Is an active and visible leader and is the immediate escalation point for team members.
- Prepared to be 'hands on' and get involved in managing projects as and when needed
- Responsible for effective performance management, training and development of all team members irrespective of status or grade
Capital Markets Programme/Project Manager requirementsEducation & Qualifications
- The role requires the candidate to be educated to degree level or have significant specialist knowledge.
- Industry recognised modern project management qualifications such as PMP or APM preferred
Experience & Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of financial services, capital markets and banking activities and the surrounding regulatory framework including an understanding of securities and derivatives
- Prior experience of successfully delivering business strategy or regulatory projects within banking
- Experience working within Securities or Capital Markets would be a strong advantage.
- Strong, effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral, including diplomacy in offering challenge
- Experience of managing and motivating teams in a collaborative environment
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
- Ability to thrive under multiple deadlines and pressure
Skills
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
£100-120K basic + benefits
