Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind is a highly regarded local charity, helping people to be mentally healthy and working together with those experiencing mental health problems and dementia to improve their quality of life. With an annual turnover of £5M, over 150 staff and 200 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network.

Commissioned by the London Borough of Bromley and Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group, Bromley Third Sector Enterprise (BTSE) provide an integrated approach to supporting Bromley residents through the Bromley Well service including:
• Support of older people
• Adults with long term health conditions
• Adults with learning disabilities
• Adults with physical disabilities
• People with mental health issues
• Carers

We provide new options for local people to help them maintain both their physical and mental health as well as their independence and employment opportunities.

About the role:

As the Carers Support Advisor (Mental Health), you will work in a small team as part of Bromley Well to enhance the quality of life, choice and opportunities for people who care for someone experiencing mental health problems. You will provide information, advice and guidance to help carers cope in their role, through one-to-one emotional support and practical training sessions.

Requirements:

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will have experience of the following:
• Working with carers in a range of complex situations
• Working with people experiencing common and complex mental health issues
• Working with vulnerable adults and supporting their emotional needs
• Designing, coordinating and delivering groups, workshops and presentations
• Knowledge of secondary care and related mental health services, including an awareness of local policy and national laws that can effect carers
• Managing a caseload and delivering to targets
• Providing information, advice and guidance on a range of social, emotional and mental health issues

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
