Job description

Job title: Category Manager

Job location: Sunbury on Thames (hybrid mode)

Industry: Gas & Oil

Employment type: contract (until mid of 2022 with possibility of extension till the end of the year)

Daily rate: £410 - £450

Engagement via an umbrella company

Summary

The role will lead a change management project for the (Procurement and Supply Chain Management team. The successful candidate will plan, manage and execute the change across multiple category teams. Contract Management and Supplier Management activities are key components of this role and shall be executed through established processes. A strong working relationship with the other PSCM team members, as well as stakeholders outside of the PSCM team is essential to support the change implementation.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead and deliver the transformation and change management project
  • Communicate with the key stakeholders including Category Team Leads to deliver the requirement
  • Work closely with the process and systems Leads to ensure changes are executed in the established processes
  • Undertake Contract Management activities including support invoice queries and any dispute resolution as required
  • Support category teams for category management activities, including development and execution of long-term strategies, prepare Strategy & Bid Lists for approval by relevant Governance Board, prepare necessary RFP (request for proposal) and Contract documentation for issue through ARIBA OneSource, prepare and develop Bid Evaluation Plans, prepare recommendation for Award as required
  • Provide regular performance management updates to the PSCM leadership team
  • Champions HSE and promotes compliance with the Code of Conduct

Key Competences:

  • Track record of successful supply chain (oil and gas strongly preferred) and contracts delivery in challenging environments and Joint Ventures working with NOC's
  • Deep contract management experience
  • Solid project management or change management experience in a procurement and supply chain environment
  • Attention to detail with analytical abilities
  • MS Word, Excel skills, ARIBA and MAXIMO skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have ability to work with people, to gain respect of peers and team members in a multi-cultural working environment and capable of completing work assignments within agreed timeframes with a competent level of accuracy

Desirable Competences:

  • Professional qualifications preferred (M/FRICS, CIPS etc.)
