Job description
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director for the NWL Elective Centre
Location: North London
Salary: VSM - competitive
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) is one of the largest integrated care trusts in the country, providing hospital and community services to the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond. Our team of more than 8,000 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of approximately one million people. As well as delivering community services across three London boroughs, we provide acute hospital services at Central Middlesex, Ealing, Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospitals.
Responsible for all aspects of operational performance, our new Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of the NWL Elective Centre will play a key role in ensuring the Trust delivers on the full range of performance targets whilst ensuring highest quality of cost-effective care and services to patients, visitors, and staff. Working closely with the divisional teams, the post holder will lead the development of effective integrated and multi-disciplinary services and will have a key role in the success of the Trust's corporate agenda. This will require a strong emphasis to help develop improved cultural foundations for performance management, delivery, improvement and appraisal whilst managing delivery of agreed performance indicators in relation to clinical outcomes, clinical efficacy and service line reporting.
The person appointed will be joining an ambitious senior leadership team and will work closely with the new Chief Executive to provide strategic leadership, and influence and shape the delivery of outstanding care across the Trust and system. As a key member of the Executive Team and a voting member of the Trust Board of Directors, you will help lead the implementation of service delivery and development plans, together with plans for on-site developments and assisting in the business planning process. The post holder will play a key role in service improvement and transformation ensuring the models of care are futuristic and meet the needs of the organisation and the population we serve. Critically, this role will be central in contributing to the design and implementation of ICS plans, and the primary contact and key representative of the Trust with regulators.
Quite uniquely, this role offers the exciting opportunity within its portfolio of having responsibility for ensuring the completion of the full business case to establish the North West London Elective Care Centre, leading the implementation programme for mobilisation of the new centre and ensuring it meets standards for formal accreditations, statutory compliance and requirements of regulatory bodies (CQC).
With such an important role to play in leading our ambitious plans for improvement and transformation towards delivering excellence, the COO will be key in harnessing the talent and energy of the incredible people who work at LNWH, developing capability and capacity internally and with partners to deliver exceptional care and improved outcomes.
As such, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced executive director, or experienced Director of operations; a creative and inspirational leader, someone who will champion NWLH with partners, can help shape and influence strategy that plays to the strengths of the Trust whilst supporting the delivery of system health. We need a people person, someone with boundless energy and enthusiasm, who is open and authentic. You will need a passion for improvement and commitment to transformational change in addition to a solid track record of empowering teams to deliver exceptional services. In everything you do, you will need at your core to embody our vison and values of putting patients at the HEART of everything we do.
AT LNWH we respect and value the diversity of our workforce, patients, service users, relatives, carers, and visitors, and we strongly welcome applications from candidates with a diverse background.
