Cloud Engineer - Serverless - Typescript - Javascript

We are looking for talented developers to join an exciting greenfield project as part our experienced team of Cloud developers, platform engineers and data engineers.

This is an great opportunity to get involved from the beginning and will require you to be comfortable working with serverless technologies in small autonomous squads working as part of a larger programme.

You will have a customer-first mindset, with the maturity and initiative to do what it takes keep our clients happy, including some working at client locations. When our clients win - we win!

We need you to be really great at:

  • Developing complex cloud-native serverless applications
  • Using AWS Lambda, preferably written in TypeScript (knowledge of Node.js is useful)
  • Using AWS Serverless products, including API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB etc
  • Implementing a range of integration patterns, from GraphQL to SaaS APIs to FTP.
  • Understanding traditional Design Patterns
  • Understanding DevOps principles (ideally with experience of Monorepos and Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding an Infrastructure-as-Code language (eg CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Test-Driven development, with a quality-driven mindset
  • Communicating, with excellent written and spoken skills
  • Datamodelling
  • Solid understanding of VCS (ideally git)
  • Consideration of cross cutting concerns (eg Observability, Security)

If you do any of this even better

  • Experience of modern eCommerce platforms
  • Contribute to Open Source projects
  • Experience developing multi-site applications
  • Diagrams-as-code
  • Understanding of modern authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC)
