The firm is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Bangalore, Hong Kong and other major financial centers around the world.

DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW
The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analysis of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products and sophisticated technology systems in depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Recovery & Resolution Team is a small centralized team, based in London, responsible for setting the strategy for, planning, and coordinating the firm's global and local recovery and resolution planning efforts. The team also has responsibility for running the assurance framework across our resolution capabilities, preparation of the firm's resolution capital metrics, and is the first point of call for regulatory enquiries relating to recovery and resolution planning globally. This is a global role with significant breadth that covers all of the firm's activities. A public summary of the firm's resolution plan can be found on the firm's external website

We seek an experienced Associate with the following attributes:

  • Analytical skills: ability to prepare and challenge financial projections relating to the recovery and resolution plans
  • Writing skills: the ability to produce documentation to meet regulatory and public disclosure standards and to critically review materials prepared by other areas
  • Technical competence in one or more of the following areas: Capital, Liquidity, Financial Reporting, Operations, Risk Management
  • Preferred but not essential: Understanding of US, UK and/or EU Resolution regimes

Responsibilities include:
  • Authoring sections of the firm's recovery and resolution plans
  • Assisting with the preparation of the firm's resolution capital metrics
  • Conducting assurance work such as capability testing and simulation exercises
  • Participating in regulatory meetings in the US, UK, and EU

This role provides an exciting opportunity to participate in an important area of regulatory focus and be involved in developing the firm's thinking and approach to resolvability as its business model continues to evolve.
