Our leading consultancy client are seeking a Functional Consultant focused on Business Intelligence & Analytics to join their fast-growing, innovative team. This is a client-facing role focusing on the sale, implementation, and support of Business Intelligence & Analytics products and services. You will work closely with fellow consultants in conducting multiple client projects ranging from consulting services, customisation design, and technical support, to full implementation.
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of design and construction of Business Intelligence solutions. You will be a problem solver, creative thinker, fast learner, be detail-oriented, and interested in learning their clients' business.
Key Skills & Experience
- 6+ years' experience working on data and Business Intelligence projects
- Strong financial and business acumen, and ability to speak about technology in the language of business
- Excellent client skills and customer relationship management skills
- Excellent project management, organisation, and follow-up skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in formal data quality assessments
- Experience in defining and managing master data and business metadata
- Experience with Power BI for Datamodelling and creating reports and visualisations
- Must be a team player; able to work in virtual teams and independently
- Proficient in MS Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Alteryx
- Knowledge of data analysis programming languages eg R, Python
- Experience with Datamodelling (normalized and de-normalized data models), understanding of the appropriate purpose for each
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine (database administration/maintenance), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Experience using T-SQL scripts (stored procedures, views, functions etc.) to manipulate data and simplify access to data
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL DW, Azure Data Lake, Analysis Services)
- Experience in delivering projects under different process frameworks of life cycles (ie Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall)
Responsibilities:
- Lead data analytics assessment engagements, planning and facilitating workshops to confirm objectives and requirements, identifying gaps in data and processes, and developing the client's data analytics roadmap
- Guide clients and prospects in their evaluation of Business Intelligence solutions providing information and demonstrations to help them assess fit for their business
- Scope the implementation services required to help clients achieve their objectives
- Create high quality, client facing document outputs
- Execute solution delivery engagements
- Interact effectively with internal and external resources at all organisational levels
- Ensure completion of tasks, milestones, and components including but not limited to functional specifications, design specifications, configurations, quality assurance, implementations, and project reviews
- Build reports, dashboards and scorecards using a variety of tools
- Train end users and system administrators
- Provide clients with ongoing technical support and troubleshooting
