As a Data Engineer II within the IT organization, you will help build data solutions, services and tools to grow our business, democratize data and enable and support business teams with the use of data and technology. The Europe and Asia Client Group (EACG) Technology team manages in-house and vendor products. As a Data Engineer, you will be working closely with our clients and developing data solutions to enable them gather insights they require and make better data driven decisions. You will build data solutions for Europe and Asia client groups across different business areas. What you'll be doing: Building relationships with your customers, partner teams and the engineers on your team. Actively engaging with stakeholders to develop detailed understanding of their requirements. Providing technical recommendations on your projects and incorporating best practice. Writing Code (Python, PySpark etc.). Working with data (SQL, ETL, Tableau, Alteryx). Working with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Databricks). Making insightful contributions to your team. Representing Capital Group and staying abreast of latest developments in data technology. Your background and who you are: You have a background in data engineering and analytics, with a passion to learn. You're passionate about data and keep abreast with data technologies and are learning regularly. You approach projects, tasks, and unknowns with curiosity, and enjoy sharing what you know and what you learn with the people around you. You believe that a team is strongest when it is diverse and includes multiple perspectives. You can put yourself into your customer's shoes. You frequently immerse yourself in the customer experience to understand how you can better serve them. Qualifications: BS in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent in relevant work experience. Experience in data development, including experience with at least SQL and Python. Experience in data analysis, data development and databases. Knowledge of agile concepts.
