Across the Fundamentals and Earnings Estimates data teams, we move markets by providing our clients with sought-after reported-on and broker-estimated financials that are normalized across companies, key analytical ratios, and industry-specific data points. More than 320,000 business leaders rely on the real time financial information available on the Bloomberg Professional Service. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insight provided by Global Data's Company Financials team. Our team of Analysts influence investment decisions and move the markets every day, and we are growing.

The Team
EMEA Data is looking for a Manager to lead our Equity Fundamentals teams. This position requires extensive communication across EMEA and around the world with Sales, the Chief Technology Office, Ancillary Product Groups, Analytics, News, Engineers & Business Leaders. You will be expected to work closely with Bloomberg clients and perform managerial responsibilities including the development of Data products and process re-engineering by applying technology, vendor management, and business planning. Your role is key in ensuring consistency of standards and collaborating with others to oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial data whilst continually seeking new ways to add value for our clients and data products. The team drives some of our client key functions such as {MODL } and {FA }

The Role
The Fundamentals group is looking for a market savvy and results-oriented Manager to drive the development of its data product, and to manage and develop high-performing teams of Fundamentals experts. Your role is key in ensuring consistency of standards and collaborating with others to oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financials data while curating company and industry specific analysis. As the Manager, you will primarily do so by effectively managing, motivating, and building high-performing teams that are composed of Data Specialists and Data Analysts. You will lead by example in understanding the data product, the market, and how our clients use the information to make investment decisions. You will also direct on-shore and off-shore operations to ensure that service level agreements (SLA) for timeliness, quality, and coverage of the data product are regularly met. You will leverage Business Intelligence to aid in monitoring and controlling these operations, as well as identify opportunities to improve them by applying technology, process re-engineering or utilizing alternative resource models, for example. Finally, you'll be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders in other business units such as Core Financial Products and Engineering on product development in pursuit of providing the best product in the marketplace and driving value.

We'll trust you to:

  • Manage multiple teams with multiple Team Leaders directing reporting to you
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a team of analysts who will be market experts in their product demonstrated through processing time-sensitive, high-quality data, data analysis, and project management
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to evolve the role, workflow, and operating procedures to ensure consistency in data quality and timeliness across regions
  • Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders (primarily Core Product, Financial Products, News, and Engineering) to drive the adoption and integration of technology to improve the workflow of the group and data product
  • Evaluate and monitor the success of the team in achieving its goals and metrics
  • Execute and evolve plans for coverage for the product
  • Have meaningful client interactions to build trust, understand their needs, and deepen relationships
  • Work with stakeholders to manage budgets and communicate return on investment for identified projects
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and latest developments in the financial market
  • Continuously review processes and internal feedback to identify opportunities to adapt new technology and/or processes to become more efficient and effective
  • Oversee customer support for users of Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service, News, and Enterprise Solutions to ensure superior service
  • Drive value creation and local product innovation

You'll need to have:
  • Prior experience in management; successfully leading diverse teams
  • Vision to align your team's goals around providing superior service to Business and other internal/external clients, and the ability to execute a business and people strategy which delivers on that vision
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to clearly communicate business needs and to advocate on behalf of your team
  • Strong understanding of the wide-ranging impact of financial data
  • Well-honed listening skills, allowing you to draw understanding of your team and clients' needs
  • Proven ability to establish strong credibility and build influential relationships with multiple internal and external clients and stakeholders
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem solving, aided by strong data analysis skills

We'd love to see:
  • A Master's degree (preferably in Finance, Economics or STEM field) and/or a professional qualification such as CFA
  • Familiarity with financial statements
