As examples, we:analyse data from multiple sources to gain insight into what works in public policies and programmes;work on the development of indicators of change in social, economic and environmental systems;support our clients in development of regulatory systems that help them manage risk and monitor performance; anddesign and deliver powerful communication campaigns.The roleYou will work in a specialist team provide data science services in the UK and the Europe Union. This a role that provides an opportunity to demonstrate innovation, technical excellence and business acumen. You will help deliver and expand our data science services. Informed by an understanding of our customers' requirements and operating environments, you will ensure ICF is equipped to provide appropriate solutions and lead their application. You will be working as a data science partner to teams across our business, from communication to evaluation.You will communicate and support colleagues to help catalyse the deployment of data science tools and techniques. You will contribute to proposal-writing. You will work with our in-house statisticians, economists, econometricians and survey and data analysts in the delivery of services. You will liaise with counterparts in ICF's wider business to ensure we make the most of the firm's global capabilities. You will identify and build partnerships with organisations with complementary capabilities that can help increase our success.Your main responsibilities will be to:Design and deliver data science solutions that provide the insights and added value that our clients are looking for;Support the capture of new work through identification of appropriate solutions and contribution to proposals;Innovate and demonstrate how the application of data science can solve our clients' problems.Required experience:Strong academic background and high interest in public service or public policy context;Proven experience in data & analytics projects, including:Application of algorithms to develop insights from large datasets;Handling large datasets;Experience with data linking / advanced data management, combining data from different sources, automation, and deploying data science solutions at scale;Experience in data organisation, cleaning, treating, etc., a knowledge of version control and reproducibility;Experience in natural language processing would be an advantage;Experience with one or more statistical software and database management software packages (e.g. SAS, STATA, R, Python and Microsoft Access, VBA);Experience with one or more analytical and visualisation software packages (such as PowerBI, Tableau and GIS software) would be an advantage;Experience with machine learning;Good leadership and team-working skills;Ability to self-organise, prioritise and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;An ability to communicate clearly in written English;Prior experience in consulting is an advantage but not essential; We welcome applicants from research/academia and other domains beyond consulting.Working at ICFWorking at ICF means applying a passion for meaningful work with intellectual rigor to help solve the leading issues of our day.
