We are looking for a Data Visualisation Analyst to join our growing Data Insights team. This role is for you if you enjoy working with teams to help them make the most of their data and supporting them to improve their data literacy skills. You love working with data and are an advocate for responsible and strategic data use.
In this role you'll get the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders to support and promote the creation of visualisations that aid strategic decision making. You'll also work closely with our data engineers & data scientists to continue enhancing Wellcome's data portfolio.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise and support to colleagues performing data analytics and visualisations on how to get the best from Tableau and the underlying data warehouse.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, design and develop Tableau dashboards.
- Champion best practice with visualisation creation including meeting accessibility standards. You will work closely with User Researchers to ensure dashboards are effective and usable.
- Highlight data quality issues and collaborate with Data Engineers to manage and structure data to support the creation of visualisations.
- Support the ongoing development of our Tableau creator community and help organise training sessions. You will also help with administration of our Tableau Server and site infrastructure.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Strong experience in data analysis, creating powerful visualisations, and feel comfortable working with a wide variety of data sources.
- Experience interpreting and translating business requirements into metric definitions and effective outputs
- Demonstrate great attention to detail
- Excellent Tableau Desktop skills, experience supporting others with Tableau dashboard development and troubleshooting user issues.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and working to deadlines.
- Tableau Server and site admin experience (e.g. updating Tableau software, managing permissions, projects, workbooks and data sources).
- Experience working in an agile environment & prototyping skill a bonus
