Job description

A medical professional body based in the heart of central London are recruiting for a Deputy Director of Education on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled education professional to lead the strategic development and operational delivery of all aspects of their regulated qualifications.

The Deputy Director of Education will take responsibility for all aspects of accreditation, delivery, quality assurance and development of the organisation's examinations and assessments, in particular their two regulated qualifications. You will establish, develop and maintain key internal and external relationships to ensure the good reputation, smooth running and informed development of the qualifications. Furthermore, you will ensure the good reputation, smooth running and informed development of the qualifications whilst making sure they are supported by appropriate systems, technology and processes as well as ensuring the education team is represented in cross-directorate project meetings.

Whilst you will have three direct reports, you will also take responsibility for the recruitment, appointment, development and performance management of the assessments and examinations team via these managers. The Deputy Director of Education will also take full responsibility for the development of business plan work streams relating to regulated qualifications.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience of working in a senior role within graduate, postgraduate, training or an examinations organisation. You will have experience of leading qualification delivery, development and quality assurance processes as well as overseeing competency-based assessments. As a strong people manager, you will have drafted and presented formal committee papers and policy documents.

You will have managed multi-million-pound budgets and high profile nationally recognised projects from start-to-finish. Additionally, you will have produced reports or statistics for management information purposes and have experience of presenting in public to a range of audiences.

It would make you stand out even further if you had experience of leading the development of quality assurance systems and/or academic regulations and experience of business planning but this is not essential. If you have worked within healthcare education this would also be a benefit.
