Deputy Regional Chief Audit Executive

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

• Supervise the timely and effective delivery of the Internal Audit Plan in accordance with the agreed cycle of audit coverage, budget and resource plan;
• Supervise the effective management of internal audit recommendations to ensure they are followed up timely and completed with appropriate due diligence;
• Supervise the annual audit risk assessment process and ensure risks are assessed on an ongoing basis through continuous monitoring so as to support effective audit planning;
• Define the strategic direction and governance of the department;
• Manage problem resolution and action planning;
• Supervise the audit team on a day-to-day basis and co-ordinate the management of resources with Head Office. Ensure all staff receive formal performance appraisals and goal setting on an annual basis considering individual personal development needs;
• Supervise audit quality and oversee the continuous improvement of internal audit practices through the QAIP function and external review every five years. Use this activity to identify skills gaps and promote a coaching culture;
• Actively supervise the performance of the internal audit function and ensure that key stakeholders receive accurate, timely and effective reporting

• Good Audit Skills
• Good banking/financial product experience
• Financial accountancy qualification or recognised audit/risk qualification
• Excellent knowledge of current banking regulations and knowledge of future regulatory changes
• Aptitude towards investment and risk management, scenario analysis and problem solving
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to influence and an ability to gain the respect of senior management, regional stakeholders, peers and their teams
