About the RoleIn Business Transformation at FTI Consulting, we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of performance, financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. Our demanding customer base relies on small, experienced senior teams.Business Transformation sits with the FTI Corporate Finance practice and works alongside colleagues in the Restructuring, Transactions Services, Tax and Digital Science teams, providing a holistic offer for our clients and a rewarding experience for our staff.FTI Corporate Finance has experienced impressive year on year growth over recent years, and further expansion of the Business Transformation team is a core part of the company strategy.What You'll Dohis role sits within the Energy, Business Transformation team. Industry experience in Renewables is highly advantageous, for example:Offshore and onshore windSolarBattery storageMobility - fuel cell and electric cars (not all components needed)The successful candidate will participate in project teams, working with clients on the execution of various engagements and also assist with ongoing business development activity.As such, key activities include:Complex financial and operational modellingOperational analysis (e.g. OEE assessment, FTE benchmark)Company financial analysisMarket analysisStrategy formulationBusiness plan developmentIdentification of upside / downside potentialDevelopment of implementable improvement plansCarve-out and integration planningPrivate equity due diligence reportsProgramme management and implementation supportLead presentation and report writingLead client/internal meetings (regular and extensive travel requirement)Project or sub-team leadManage and coach junior team membersHow You'll GrowThe role will allow you flexibility to put in place your own framework for success and to work collaboratively with the wider team to support the exciting growth in the FTI Corporate Finance practice. The role is by its nature, flexible allowing for the expansion of opportunities or responsibilities outside of the areas set out above into other matters that you feel can contribute to the broader remit to enhance our technical compliance and operational leanness. There is also the opportunity to interact with industry bodies and networks and / or develop thought leadership. Given the focus on technical excellence, the role will demand that you remain keen to learn and full support will be given to any third-party training or coaching required to assist with the role.Qualifications & ExperienceEducated to university degree level (or equivalent), in a numerical discipline or that has a numerical element i.e. Finance, Economics, Engineering (preferable but not essential)Worked in consulting or investment banking or energy firm or energy related organizationProject experience in high paced environments focused on rapid results (e.g. rapid performance improvement , turnaround, due diligence)Demonstrable industry experience and expertise in companies with complex operations or environments in a Renewable Energy spaceThis role requires travel to clients and FTI officesWork experience and the ability to demonstrate results delivery across functions in many of the following focus areas:Performance improvement, ideally turnaround, including diagnosisOperationsFinancial modellingBusiness plan review/developmentImplementationProgramme managementStrategyMarket assessmentTransactions experienceSenior management and PE relationships (at Senior Director level in particular)Skills & CompetenciesExcellent consulting skills, specifically:Proven ability to lead a hypothesis focused approach to solve complex problems from first principalsStrong verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and interact with team members and clients at all levels using a range of styles to suit the audienceStrong written communication skills with experience of leading the production of client ready PowerPoint documents for senior audiencesRelationship building skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport, develop strong working relationships, work in diverse teams, and maintain relationship networkAdvanced analytics and modelling skills, with proven ability to coach and guide junior team membersExcellent organisational and planning skills and confident working with a number of demanding stakeholders, with the ability to handle multiple tasksEqually strong EQ and IQStrong commercial acumen/market awarenessCommercial analysis/ quantitativeResearch and analysisGood communication skills - well structured reports and presentations as well as orallyProject managementGood knowledge of P&L, cash flow and balance sheet.
