Job description

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust

Director of Transformation

London

VSM

Since its formation in 1852, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) has been solely dedicated to children's healthcare. A renowned international centre of care and research excellence, GOSH receives more than 300,000 patient visits every year. Our Trust offers world-class acute and ongoing care including for children and young people from all over the world with rare, complex, and difficult-to-treat conditions, delivered by its incredible staff.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, our new Director of Transformation will be a key contributor to the leadership, strategic direction, and management of GOSH, to deliver the Trust's organisational priorities. As the transformation lead, you will drive forward the strategic transformation and cultural change agendas, that will include major programmes to improve efficiencies, systems, processes, and productivity, to ensure the ongoing and ever improving delivery of high-quality patient care.

In this key and exciting role, you will provide senior leadership in service innovation and improvement across the organisation. Through building excellent working relationships at all levels of the organisation and with internal and external partners, you will ensure collaborative working with key stakeholders to guarantee sound decisions around improvement, service redesign and development are made.

Leading a consistent approach to improvement, efficiency planning and delivery - over the short, medium, and long term - will be key in developing a robust pipeline of efficiency schemes and pan-Trust pathway and service redesign. This will be done through connecting highly complex and multiple strategies and programmes through aligned planning, prioritising, resourcing, and funding systems.

We are therefore seeking a specialist, and leader, in innovation, improvement, and transformation initiatives, who can represent GOSH locally, nationally, and internationally; someone who has demonstrable experience of delivering significant transformational change.

At your core you will also need to be as driven as we are by improving patient safety, quality, and experience as an explicit priority in all that you do. You will exemplify our values of always being welcoming, helpful, expert and operate as part of one team, and reinforce these values through your behaviour, as a role model, specialist, and leader in transformation.

If you believe that this role could be a good fit for your professional experience, and that our values resonate with your own, we would love to hear from you. For more information click on Apply or contact Dr Melanie West or Joanna Riley on / for an initial informal discussion.
