Job description

I am currently recruiting for a Disrepairs Surveyor to work with a Local London Authority in North-West London on a contract basis.

The client is looking for someone to offer a resolution focused surveying service providing excellent customer service at every stage to enhance the reputation of the Brent Housing property service including:

quality pre-inspection focussed on getting it right first time;
comprehensive management of the job coordinating contractors to make the process easy for the customer;
timely post inspections working with the customer and contractor to ensure lasting results.
high level void turnaround service with emphasis on getting properties fit for purpose, rent loss minimised and providing 6 month defect free properties for new customers
Main duties will include:

Provide a customer focussed service of surveying and auditing to support the responsive repairs and voids contracts, inclusive of pre and post inspections, and managing complex works from inception to completion with emphasis on getting it right the first time.
Survey and manage complex cases of disrepair, insurance claims, complaints, leaseholder service charging and section 20, structural repairs and adaptations to resolution for the customer or stakeholder.
Carry out detailed surveys of properties to provide a detailed report and act as the expert witness in any court action
Procure repairs and voids works as required.
Prepare specifications and obtain quotations and tenders for work.
Prepare and provide detailed estimated and data for section 20 consultations and invoices.
Candidates will need:

HNC, HND, BTEC HND or higher, in a building discipline, or over 5 years hands on experience of related repairs surveying/ construction from a trade background.
Evidence of continuing professional development
Relative experience of building maintenance in a local authority or other registered social landlord
Experience in the management and administration of domestic building repairs
