Electrical Components & ESDI Project Manager
Location: Westminster London, SW1P United Kingdom
During the COVID-19 restrictions period you will be expected to work largely from home. However, when these are lifted you will be based at their office in either London or Copenhagen. During both periods you are expected, where it is allowed, to undertake travelling in relation to your work. This may be to their other offices, operations port or offshore site, including supplier's vessels used for surveys and/or the remedial works.

Our client are the world leaders in the development, construction, ownership and operation of offshore wind farms. They use their unique knowledge in all phases of their wind turbine projects and during the last 20 years have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in the world.
The Electrical Project Management function consists of over 40 project managers located in London and Copenhagen, providing leadership and management to the teams responsible for electrical engineering, procurement and construction of electrical system works, related to offshore wind farms.
Electrical Project Management have a requirement to employ contract resource to work within the project team responsible for their Ocean Wind 1 Project. This role will be the Deputy Electrical System Integration Project Manager, reporting to the Lead Electrical Project Manager. It is envisaged that this role will be required for a period of 12 months but may be extended for a further 6 to 12 months.
Your key duties will be to
leading a team responsible for the design of the wind farm HV electrical system, ensuring that it shall be compliant with all requirements such that the wind farm can be safely and reliably connected to the onshore transmission network.
Lead design reviews and risk assessments workshops at the required points and ensure that actions from the meetings are assigned and discharged by the appropriate person
supporting the procurement and subsequent post-award management of contracts or groups of contracts, related to the electrical systems
leading the management of a wide range of risks: health & safety, programme, cost, quality and compliance with specification across either a group of contracts as part of a multi- or EPC-contract concept
Review the engineering activities performed to date
Develop and implement contingency plans in the event of unforeseen events impacting the work packages
Preparation and delivery of project gate and project management documentation, such as project scope, costs, risks and interfaces
Provide progress reporting as required.
The postholder must bring his/her own PC with Microsoft Office software and must be in possession of an i-Phone 6 or a newer model, or a Windows phone 8.1 where their AirWatch app can be downloaded. The app is mandatory on all mobile devices used by their staff (including consultants) to protect them from cybercrime
Requirements:
Certification as a Project Manager is preferred
are able to prioritise and execute your tasks to meet deadlines.
Can demonstrate the capability to lead a team during the design of HV electrical systems
have excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills,
have good commercial understanding
have knowledge of Wind Power Project Management tools, systems and processes is preferred
Furthermore, you are prepared to work intensely during busy periods.
As they operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently
