DescriptionAbout this role. BlackRock Investment Stewardship (BIS) is a global team with considerable business management and complex operational needs. Our processes are subject to internal and external scrutiny with risks of operational events if we do not have the right resources and processes in place. BIS EMEA in particular covers over 50 markets (of which 11 are key markets) that have their own specific requirements and give rise to market-specific issues (e.g. share blocking, specific meeting voting requirements etc). These often need to be addressed in tight timeframes (and in EMEA working hours) and require coordination across locally based stakeholders (companies, investment teams, ISS, local/country support teams etc). There is a need to have support for the region to be able to deal with standard client requests and liaise with client and product strategy teams based in EMEA. Support can include, but is not limited to, following up on the true cut-offs, research availability, changing deadlines as well as other bespoke requests/requirements a company meeting will have. Core Responsibilities: Voting and Client Operational Support. Skill sets include coding abilities, familiarity with BlackRock platforms (Aladdin, Explore, etc) is a plus, strong excel and data analysis skills. Voting Operations: General voting support coverage during EMEA hours: ISS, Custodian, Broadridge escalation. PX support. Voting Controls/EOD Checks. Updating watchlists. PM escalation process. EMEA-centric voting workflows support: German iShares local voting. Share blocking markets. Power of Attorney coordination. Sec Lending/share recall support. Voting cards in France. Corporate Actions Support with internal business operations teams. Client Operations: Coordinate and support bespoke Client Reporting requests;. Monitor client teams' requests and ensure timely responses (1st line of defense);. Be Go to team member on responding to frequently asked routine Questions;. Primary point for EMEA Business Ops colleagues on standard client reporting;. Voting choice operational support;. Engagement Operations: Aladdin Research support including ensuring right coverage is uploaded, helping analysts with widgets, ability to extract AR insights to help analysts look at their engagement data and notes to draw trends currently all requests are directed to the global BIS Ops team and depend on capacity. Other BLK analytical tools: Explore, Tableau, Aladdin Climate, etc our partners use these platforms (e.g. SIMBA is in Explore) and it will be useful to have an EMEA dedicated person who is familiar with these environments and can extract relevant information for bespoke company analysis. Having a 'super user' on the EMEA team will enhance our own use of these tools in engagements and analysis. Broader Business Management Support: Coordinate with Global BIS Ops team to keep BIS EMEA informed of centralized efforts (e.g. deadlines for AR notes updates). Oversee team level activities (e.g all CIM requests have been addressed, monitor internal requests and ensure they're responded to in a timely way). Ensure trainings and other team level items are on track (compliance completed, etc), plan team on-sites/off-sites and arrange for logistical and content support on this. Help with client meeting materials such as power point presentations.
