Executive Assistants' Team Lead

The Security Industry Authority, the regulatory body of the private security industry and part of the Home Office, require an Executive Assistants' Team Lead to join them for an initial 2-year fixed term contract. Summary

You will support the Head of Strategy and Governance in embedding effective governance at Board and sub-Board level. This will involve ensuring that the people, processes and technology deployed in supporting the Executive Directors, the Board and the governance structure are in place and working effectively. You will manage the three executive support staff and they will be required to establish and maintain strong, positive working relationships with key stakeholders.

Job description

*Manage the Executive Support Team to ensure a consistent and excellent service to the CEO, Executive Directors, Board and governance structures.
*Set and maintain high standards for the Executive Support Team and ensure effective tasking of the team.
*Review the structure, processes and technology deployed in the provision of that service, identify what works well and improvements that can be made.
*Devise and implement an action plan to deliver the identified improvements whilst maintaining those elements which work well.
*Have oversight of forward programmes and the preparation (and publication as appropriate) of agendas, reports, decision/instruction sheets and minutes and such other actions which arise as a result of the meeting, such as monitoring progress on actions agreed.
*Coach the Executive Support Team to develop a high-degree of self-sufficiency and cross-team support in achieving the standards set.
*Ensuring team responsibilities and key objectives are completed in line with the Functional Plan.
*Drafting of letters, memos, Board papers, speeches and presentations for the Directors and Non-Executives as required.
*Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
*Lead a project to organise corporate governance records to enable effective sourcing of historic decisions and establishment of correct framework for future decisions.

Experience Required

*Extensive line management experience with a strong track record in motivating, coaching and team building.
*Relevant experience in setting and maintaining standards of a corporate support function to consistently deliver high quality support.
*Experience of undertaking a range of governance and committee related support work or similar in a local government or similar organisation or body.
*Excellent interpersonal skills in order to quickly establish effective relationships with senior staff.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to work under pressure and with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
*Discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
*High level of proficiency in IT applications, including the MS Office Suite.
