Job Overview
The role is based in the firm's largest office building comprising of one million ft2 leased by the firm on a fully repairing and insuring basis. Over half of this is sublet to a variety of tenants. The role encompasses the responsibility for key services within a small management team. A high-quality office environment and corresponding services is central to support the firms strategy of being the law firm of choice for the world's leading business.
Who you will work with
You will report to the Head of Facilities and Business Operations and join an executive management team which also includes Office Services, Client Operations, Document Production, Design & Service Centres. In addition, you will also be an important part of a broader functional network of Business Professionals across the firm.
What you will be responsible for
• London facilities management team comprising of Property Operations, Health & Safety, Environment, Workspace & Assets and Business Resilience.
• There are a variety of suppliers and sub-contractors supporting our teams.
• The aim of the team is to provide a safe, compliant, high quality workspace together with an efficient market leading set of services.
• The role will entail accountability for a large operational budget and capital expenditure.
What you will do
You will lead an experienced team and liaise with other managers and departments to maintain high standards and dependable services ensuring excellent collaboration and communication. This will include;
• Line management for 'hard' facilities service delivery including planned maintenance and lifecycle asset replacement projects.
• Supporting and guiding the implementation of London based aspects of our science-based targets and working with our energy management team.
• Ensuring compliance with our health and safety policy and business resilience initiatives.
• Coordinating general lease aspects including subletting of vacant space; rent reviews etc.
As an interim role there is an opportunity to make an impact in using your experience to bring new ideas to challenges and suggest different service management techniques.
Your career experience so far
• You will have significant experience within a Facility Management role ideally within professional services or a financial services environment.
• You will have good working knowledge of managing large budgets and financial data.
• As people and team management are key to the role, you will have a considerable experience in general team management.
• Given the strategic sustainability objectives of the firm you will have strong environmental experience and be familiar with management systems such as ISO14001, 50001, etc.
• As the size of the building and nature of the lease etc. require a robust compliance regime experience with implementing business continuity and resilience strategies is required.
• Given the detail described above you are likely to be an active member of facilities management organisations such the IWFM.
• You can demonstrate driving forward initiatives in a large-scale environment.
• You will have excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to solving complex issues, whilst managing multiple priorities at any one given time.
