Job description

A career within Finance Consulting services, will provide the opportunity to work alongside CEOs, CFOs, controllers and treasurers to optimise the structure of their finance functions and improve their contribution to the business. We support our clients by addressing the challenges of achieving appropriate standards of control, efficient back office opportunities and support to the business through insight and challenge.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll deliver complex finance client engagements. You will interact directly with client stakeholders, often owning specific deliverables on assignments, and Managers will additionally have line management responsibility for junior team members. Your role will also include supporting internal proposition and thought leadership development on industry specific offerings, and supporting the sales process through proposal development.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can manage multiple tasks on projects. They would also need to have the capacity to take on greater responsibilities as they develop within the firm. They should be of an intellectually curious mindset and interested in continually developing their professional and technical skills. We would expect you to gain a broad range of experience before deciding whether to specialise in a specific area. Many projects give you the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firms overseas.

We help to address the challenges of achieving increasingly demanding standards of control and reporting whilst continuously driving for efficiency and performance improvement.
Our delivery work can include:
● Finance vision, strategy and operating models
● Finance and multi-function shared services /outsourcing
● Finance organisation design including developing future workforce models with remote working, virtual works, virtual teams
● Finance function process improvement including digital process modelling, automation, workflow, RPA
● Supporting cost reduction exercises, with robust benefit realisation plan
● Benchmarking the finance function
● Enterprise performance management including planning, budgeting and forecasting
● Finance IT strategy - including embedding applicable digital technologies

Joining our team as a Manager, we would expect you to have experience of large change projects, preferably within a major blue chip or consulting environment.

You will have been supporting decision making at a mid-senior level and be able to demonstrate a track record of implementation success, achieving benefits and overcoming various challenges. Significant FS sector experience is essential.

Skills & Experience will ideally cover a combination of the following factors:
- Data architecture, data management, chart of accounts design
- Systems architecture for finance systems
- Demonstrated external consulting experience or equivalent transferable skills to delivering large scale data transformation to complex client needs
- Financial services experience specifically Insurance
- A delivery track record of leading complex Finance transformation projects, delivering multiple workstreams simultaneously and/or managing a complex stakeholder environment, specifically covering our core delivery areas as listed above
- A consulting/professional services track record
- An understanding of standard Finance systems such as EPM and ERP
- Experience of leading and developing teams
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior management on alternative solutions and risks with experience of presenting and influencing at a senior level
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills
- Logical and quantitative mind-set, with the ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving
- Ambitious and self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision
- Demonstrate that you stay abreast of industry and technology developments
- Potential to develop strong people management, client handling and development skills, including inter-personal sensitivity and influencing skills
- Strong project and financial management skills
- Strong technical, problem identification and analytical skills - with demonstrable experience in at least one of these areas
- Experience of the impact of regulations on finance in FS. Candidates would ideally have exposure to one or more of: IFRS 17, IFRS 9, Solvency II, Basel III, SOx, GDPR
- Exposure to Robotics process automation and other disruptive technologies

Desirable qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience
- A formal accounting or business qualification or equivalent understanding of accounting principles, e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA/MBA
- Relevant technology certifications in finance technology providers (e.g. ERP, EPM, Data platforms, RPA, Automation, Analytics, BI)
- Relevant data and data architecture certifications and qualifications
