About the opportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our EMEA Finance organization for a Finance Manager to play a key role in the internal and external financial reporting across a high growth, multi-jurisdictional region. The EMEA Finance organization is a team of c.70, primarily UK based, with accounting teams also based in Germany, Dubai, and Spain. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager who is familiar with US GAAP reporting and compliance with SOX procedures, in a matrix structured organization, hands-on experience of statutory audits across multiple geographies, VAT, and other reporting obligations.The Finance Manager will have responsibility for the statutory audit of 14 UK & Ireland entities, including a large UK LLP and a FCA regulated entity. Experience of LLP procedures (FRS 102 and LLP SORP), including partner profit statement production is essential, knowledge of FCA reporting is desired. Experience of Unit 4 and CaseWare would also be advantageous.The Finance Manager will have direct line leadership of 4 qualified / part-qualified accountants.REPORTS TO: EMEA Finance ControllerThe Role:The individual will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the EMEA region's financial statements covering:Monthly Accounting Close - manage the team across:Prepare and post journal entries including payroll reports from external payroll agenciesManage and prepare prepaid expenses and expense accrual schedulesPrepare and post journal entries related to lease capitalisation in line with relevant accounting standards (ASC 842 / IFRS 16)Manage intercompany loan schedules and record monthly interest accrualsPerform inter-company reconciliations for multiple EMEA entitiesPreparation of general ledger account reconciliations in line with SOX requirements, including monthly submission into the FTI Blackline environmentOversee Fixed Asset register and roll forward processesAssist with the review and approval of journals and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by direct reportsAssist EMEA Finance team in the enhancement of month-end processesStrict adherence with SOX compliance processes, managing SOX queries from US internal audit/SOX teamStatutory Audit ProcessPoint of contact for FTI's external auditorsManage the preparation, finalisation and filing of annual statutory accounts for 14 UK & Ireland entities, including a large LLP (FRS 102/LLP SORP), partner profit statements, partner current accountsFCA reporting for 1 regulated entity including 2022 ICARA reporting processes and complianceDirect liaison with internal audit team for US GAAP testing and group wide audit requirementsParticipation in other statutory audits of EMEA entities where requiredOther compliancePrepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual VAT returns and EC Sales for EMEA entities coordinating with outsourced accountants/tax advisorsCoordinate with outsourced accountants/tax advisors to deliver other local compliance requirementsReconciliation of VAT (VAT return to statutory accounts)Other duties and ad hoc support as directed by the EMEA Financial ControllerQualifications and SkillsEssential :Masters / Degree level qualificationQualified accountant with 7 years post qualification experience PQE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)US GAAP or IFRS experienceFRS102 experience and specifically knowledge of LLP SORPTechnical understanding of relevant accounting standard including ASC 842 / IFRS16 Lease accounting standard, ASC 606 / IFRS15 Revenue recognition accounting, and FRS102Kowledge of US GAAP Sarbanes Oxley internal control environmentProven experience of managing a team of accountants to deliver accurately and timely reportingManagement of external auditorsA self-starter with an ability to work remotely, and independently, interacting with colleagues through various online mediums (Teams, email)Experience of performing a month end close process either within industry or from an audit/review perspectiveAttention to detail and ability to identify and resolve reconciliation issuesAbility to prioritise and work to tight month-end deadlinesA team player and proactively offering support to colleagues in managing workloadExcellent knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and analysis formulasExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsHighly professional individual who demonstrates pride in their workDesired :CaseWare experience covering UK statutory reportingFCA reporting of a regulated services entity, also familiarity with 2022 FCA process namely ICARAProfessional services experienceFamiliarity of reporting into a US listed headquarter entityExperience of working in a matrix organisation and dealing with European subsidiariesOther European languages#LI-MD1 Our BenefitsApart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.We offer a competitive benefits and wellbeing programme including private medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, income protection, flex critical illness cover, 5% employer pension contribution, holiday buy, discounted gym membership, interest free travel loans, paid volunteer hours and corporate matching for charitable donations, and much more.About FTI ConsultingWhat makes us unique?
