We are looking for a Financial Controller who is not only committed, driven and ambitious but also has excellent attention to detail and strives for the best in all that s/he does. Reporting into the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for taking control of general accounts management, financial reports and driving added value through generating insight from performance analysis of a fast-growing esports scale-up business.
Qualifications and Experience required
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE
- Experience in managing large transactional finance teams
- Experienced in designing and implementing internal payroll teams and systems.
- CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Experience in budgeting/forecasting/cashflow management
- Experienced in internal auditing, problem-solving and applying preventive measures
- Must have excellent wring and communications skills
- Must be IT literate including an extensive understanding of using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to effectively prioritise to ensure all deadlines are met
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Let's have a look at what your key responsibilities will be.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and undertake KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue
- With support from the CFO, manage statutory audits from start to finish and own the relationship with the auditors, to include preparation of the financial statements
- Day to day running of accounting function, ensuring all transactions are up to date and regular reconciliations are performed
- Ownership of full month end management accounting; including maintenance of general ledger, month-end close, production of reporting, accruals and prepayments management, reconciliations and analysis of profit & loss and balance sheet
- Managing all tax compliance requirements for the group including preparation and submission of VAT returns, PAYE, and Corporation Tax
- Work with the company's external accountants to prepare and process the monthly and/ or yearly payroll, audits, reports etc
- Develop and enhance financial systems constantly driving efficiencies and improvements
- Support the directors on strategy and planning and review of investment appraisals
- Assist the CFO in ad hoc projects e.g. new site modelling, setting financial strategy and contract negotiation
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity at all times
