Job description

Our client is a leading Fund Administrator that is looking to hire a Real Estate Fund Accounting Assistant Manager into their industry leading team. As the new Assistant Manager in the London fund accounting team, the individual will be responsible for servicing the needs of a portfolio of Real Estate clients.

This is a great opportunity for a driven and talented individual to make a real difference as part of a dedicated and professional team. The Assistant Manager will liaise with the CFO and finance teams of client funds, third parties (including auditors) and any other external advisors necessary to ensure all issues are resolved and deadlines met.

You would be responsible for:

• Managing a small team of Fund Accountants
• Ensuring client work is delivered efficiently and on budget, including; o Reviewing profitability, scope creep and ensuring work is completed by appropriate level of staff o Ensuring information received from third parties is sufficient and of a high standard • Workload planning and staff development, including appraisals and objective setting
• Review of deliverables to clients, including financial statements, cash flows and associated notes including liaison with client over transaction related issues
• Drafting internal procedures and other internal documents
• Organising take-on and set-up of new clients, including:
• Maintaining and developing existing client relationship through good management of team and deliverables
• Analysing financial information underlying the financial statements, including the treatment of business transactions
• Responsible for identification of scope and monitoring compliance with company procedures
• Preparation of asset level management reporting for the client and seeking new ways to provide informative and concise information
• Calculation of deal and fund level IRRs and other performance metrics
• Dealing with year end audit issues including ensuring preparation of relevant files and resolving issues
• Submitting recommendations for improving the Langham Hall's accounting operation including review of profitability and identification of new products or billing opportunities on existing clients

As the Assistant Manager you will need:

• A good understanding of agreements associated with real estate fund structures and interpretation of terms used including LPA, debt, sale and purchase agreements, leases etc.
• A good understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards, preferably gained within a funds environment
• An understanding the reporting and other accounting challenges faced by private equity and real estate businesses

Experience / qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent, with at least 3 years post qualification experience
• Several years experience of financial services either within general practice or a financial services firm, preferably connected with funds
