Job description

Goodman Masson are looking for a Fund Controller to join a rapidly expanding, global Private Equity House. The business is establishing their London office and as a result, it will form a fantastic hybrid between ambitious start-up and established manager, offering you the excitement and security of each.

Based in the West-End, the Fund Controller will be responsible for the management of the finance and accounting work streams across Europe's fund vehicles and investments. Responsibilities include oversight of their Europe's Equity and Debt investments, as well as UK domiciled holding companies and partnerships; assistance on deal closings; Limited Partner due diligence reporting; as well as review of quarterly and annual financial statements. The role works closely with their global Fund Operations team, Fund administrators, Auditors, Tax providers, and Investment Professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the quarterly NAV and financial statement process for assigned funds, reviewing work prepared by the third-party administrator, including:
    • Waterfall and carried interest/promote calculations
    • Differing management fee arrangements
    • Gross and Net IRR calculations
    • Ensuring accounting and presentation is consistent with IFRS, and Limited Partnership Agreements
  • Coordinate and assist with the funds' day-to-day operations, including:
    • Management of fund cash & treasury positions, including deal fund flows
    • Coordination of deal funding
  • Assist on the resolution of post-deal issues related to Fund Accounting
  • Responding to investor compliance and performance reporting requests
  • Assist Investment Professionals, Investor Relations, and Compliance, among others, providing information and data to respond to queries and performing ad hoc analyses based on the funds' or investors' activity
  • Opportunity to assist in fund raising efforts for new fund strategies
  • Support CFO / VP of Finance and department with ad hoc special projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
  • Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Fund Accounting experience
