Job description

Graduate Building Surveyor / s (APC). Our client, a successful multi-disciplinary property consultancy are looking to add an experienced Graduate Building Surveyor(s) into their London Building Consultancy team, as part of the company's growth plans. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a busy environment, supporting a team of MRICS qualified Surveyors working with investor, landlord and occupier clients and will be comfortable in client-facing situations.

We are seeking APC level building surveyors, or recently MRICS qualified, with preferably 12 to 18 months' plus relevant experience gained in a similar practice. The role will involve a mix of professional and project based surveying work with direct exposure to a wide cross section of internal and external clients and sectors.

The candidate will be based in our clients' centrally located London West End Office as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will support senior colleagues in the delivery of a broad range of both project and professional work and will be expected to contribute to:

Preparation of general reports and recommendation to clients including but not limited to: Due diligence; feasibility Studies; condition and / or maintenance reports. Assist in the management of Party Wall or other neighbourly matters. Assessment of condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair. Preparation / review of Schedules of Dilapidations and negotiating settlements. Preparation of Building Reinstatement Cost Assessments. Preparation of specifications / schedule of works. Preparation of outline and working drawings. Preparation of project programmes. Preparation and procurement of budget estimates for works Submission and negotiations of proposals to local authorities and local planning authorities. Preparation of contract documents. Tendering and evaluation. Contract administration, valuation and certification. Monitoring of building works and existing structures for compliance with regulations and byelaws and client's requirements. Advise on the Health & Safety aspects of buildings. Advise on Construction Design and management regulations. Performance of duties not specifically listed above but which may reasonably be expected of a competent Building Surveyor.

You will have a Degree in Building Surveying with minimum one year's experience, ideally in private practice. Strong, versatile organisation skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure.
