Overall purpose of the role:

The Head of Global Markets ITUK is responsible of the Global Market IT scope in London.

Breakdown of the role:

  • 90% of the activity on Global Market Commodities and
  • 10% remaining on other activities in London (GSCS, Fixed Income….For this last part represents the interface between London business and Head Office IT to escalate requests, needs or issues to Head Office IT and cascade Global Market IT information from Head Office.

The successful candidate will participate on the GMC IT strategy with GMC business and GMC Value Stream Owner to agree projects / new developments and deliver on time and within budget. As part of the role she/he will also ensure that Global Market IT in London follows the overall IT strategy and different Value Stream Owner linked with Global Market/CIB (regulatory, etc…)

Main responsibilities of the role:

Program management (under GMC Value Stream Owner coordination)

  • Lead the changes/projects and propose solutions to IT management and GMC business
  • Provide adequate support for the different teams using GM IT tools
  • Plan the stages of the project their effects on GMC and other supports functions (SDR, DR, MO,
  • BO, Trade Support and accounting)
  • Agree costs, timescales and standards to be met and monitoring these throughout the projects
  • Work closely with the different stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget
  • Keep management and stakeholders updated on progress
  • Ensure GMC disaster recovery plan for the activity are up to date with the disaster recovery team
  • Evaluate projects quality and timeline once delivered
  • Provide expertise on ETRM, commodities and different components of the IT infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance / regulatory reporting development are completed

Department management

  • Provide an efficient organization for GMC IT teams
  • Coordinating GMC IT teams between currently Paris, London and Porto
  • Ensure best delivery and quality of deliverable
  • Ensure efficiency of projects teams
  • Ensure continuous improvements of the IT processes , developments
  • Develop strong managerial practices within the departments (including hiring, training, personal development, evaluation, guidance)
  • Ensure internal procedures and standards are followed by the team
  • Coordination projects and resources with Porto team

Communication/Reporting

  • Ensure standard reporting within IT department and Business Management (Clarity, Business Reviews, etc)
  • Follow budget / costs and Ensure IT costs stay within budget
  • Organize Business lines IT steering committees and communicate IT strategy / developments
  • Escalate issues to management and identify best solutions
  • Manage and develop relationship Departments, GMC business with stakeholders on projects (other IT teams, Functional management, etc...)
  • Communicate with external vendors and ensure appropriate cost management

Global Markets IT

  • Be the entry point for Global Market business needs in London (request, escalation, cascade…)
  • Assist and coordinate when require with Head Office, Global Chains and other IT teams the delivery, support of other Global Market needs in London for non GMC activities..
