We are looking for a Head of Growth to add to the fantastic leadership as we take our business from Series A to Unicorn.

Job search is broken. Unlike other job platforms that redirect candidates to career sites, SonicJobs has built dynamic robotic process automation (RPA) to enable candidates to apply for any job on the SonicJobs app itself, with a chat assistant that guides candidates through the process. SonicJobs delivers a 23% click to completed apply conversion vs 4% market average; a 6X better experience for candidates and return on investment for employers.

You will interview customers to discover their underlying psychological motivations, test and refine winning propositions, create irresistible lead magnets and landing pages, brainstorm and test bespoke channels, draw insights from data to make great decisions, manage priorities amid chaos and ambiguity, and inspire people to do their best work.

We believe growth is a team sport. You will need to understand our candidates' mindset at the deepest level, build our "growth equation;" further and identify the rate-limiting bottleneck. You will be working with the Founders, Head of Product and Head of Commercial to ensure focus on opening up that bottleneck and driving growth across the entire organisation - Engineers, Commercial, Product, and even the Founders.

Experiment and learn...

We have a playbook, but it will be up to you to evolve that playbook. This is about understanding candidates' mindset and the SonicJobs apps and website. You will build an experimentation process and testing machine that can deliver growth with a goal to improve sign-ups, activation and retention.

The exact salary will depend on years of experience, but we always strive to compensate well. Equity will also be included for the right candidate.

Looks to identify problems to solve. Ability to own goals, lead experiments and deliver successful features to increase KPIs.

Data-driven - but not just quantitative...

Proven data-driven experiment approach, but understand that qualitative insights from candidates are just as important.

Focused on using process to find the right answers...

Not relying on hacks & quick wins. These are great but creating a growth mindset and process across the business is more important. Success stories in delivering growth and increasing activation (and possibly also retention) are a bonus.

Works cross-functionally...

Ability to execute fast. Used to nuances of working with product, engineers and commercial.

Excellent communicator...

Teaches others about what growth is, what they're focused on, and why.

What we are NOT looking for:

  • You do not need to know how to run Facebook or Google Ads. We know how to do this and can teach you if needed. Fundamentally, this is not hard. Doing the things we describe above is hard and fundamental to long-term growth.
  • You do not need to be based in the UK. We are located all over the world and are happy to bring on amazing people irrespective of where you live.

Responsibilities and experience

Main responsibilities

  • Regular candidate interviews to understand their mindset when using the product, likes and things to improve on the product and the reception to new features.
  • Use the qualitative insights to build a data-driven experimentation process to prioritise and execute experiments.
  • Oversee the product execution for features that deliver growth and increase KPIs.
  • Lead conversion rate optimization strategies and execution to increase user activation (across app and web).
  • Alongside our Head of Product and CTO, lead the prioritisation and backlog for the engineering teams to build incremental improvements in an agile environment. Define acceptance criteria and collaborate with engineering for timely delivery of releases.
  • Provide subject expertise to stakeholders and lead team brainstorming around growth.
  • Become an expert on SonicJobs' app and website capabilities, customer needs and competitive landscape in order to effectively accelerate user adoption and increase usage.

We are excited about you because you have / are:

  • Obsessed with helping users. Understand user psychology to gain insight into motivations and feelings when interacting with the product.
  • Curious and constantly looking to learn with an ability to solve complex and nuanced problems.
  • Proven track record of creating an experimentation process and pipeline and delivering high-quality features to build growth across the funnel (from activation to retention), ideally in consumer models. App experience, nice to have.
  • Ability to combine qualitative insights with data-driven execution. Strong analytical skills with familiarity using tools such as Mixpanel, Google Analytics and experimentation tools like Optmizely.
  • Self-starter, strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Great communicator with a collaborative attitude. Eager to learn and never happy with the status quo.
  • Good eye for design, copy and a creative problem solver.
  • Strong ability to plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player and strong collaborator with a variety of people and teams.
  • Strategic thinker that is able to roll up sleeves to get things done.
  • Confidence to work within a dynamic environment when priorities and tactics change rapidly, and able to adapt quickly.
