Job Description:

With senior data stakeholders in the organization drive the development and execution of a cohesive strategy for the Schlumberger Data business to maximize market awareness, 'mindshare', growth and profitability for Schlumberger data solutions in data markets for oil and gas, energy transition, and potential adjacent and new markets. The Head of Marketing Data role will champion the efficient execution of marketing strategy, tactics and implementation for Data solutions in the Schlumberger 'Digital & Integration' portfolio.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and execute a cohesive strategy for Schlumberger data solutions to outperform in chosen markets.
  • Works with Exec and Senior Management stakeholders, Market Intelligence groups, Product teams and wider Marketing Group to develop and refine optimal market positioning of solutions to maximize their potential and performance in the market.
  • Works with the Marketing group, Product Management teams and Sales & Commercial to develop and guide execution of a go-to-market strategy for both Schlumberger data solutions portfolio, and focus markets.
  • Work with strategic marketing analysts and key Schlumberger business stakeholders to size and identify key market segments and trends in the data market for oil and gas, energy transition, plus potential adjacent and new markets.
  • Monitor relevant markets for potential disruptive technologies or market players that may impact Schlumberger data business.
  • Work with selected Schlumberger stakeholders to screen and identify high-potential companies and offerings leveraging new and/or disruptive data offerings. Review companies of interest to make recommendations to Exec/Senior Management on the pursuit of M&A opportunities.
  • Works with Exec and Senior Management to screen and identify both strategic and technology partnerships, as well as community partners that contribute to any platform solutions.
  • Works with business and marketing stakeholders in the effective showcasing and application of Schlumberger data solutions for INNOVATION FACTORI engagements with customers.
  • Act as an advocate for the development and adoption of modern data management technologies within Schlumberger and amongst the larger data community.
  • Work as an advocate and support the ongoing development and reskilling of Schlumberger employees to embrace new data and data-driven/analytics and AI skillsets.

Qualifications and competencies:
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Science (and/or Geosciences / Petroleum Engineering).
  • Marketing qualification or MBA also preferable.
  • 3-5 years in a senior strategic, product management or marketing/sales role in a data orientated service company or energy/oil company using modern data platform technologies
  • 10+ years of commercial/technical experience in information management and data intensive industries.
  • High-level interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of current and emerging digital data technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record that demonstrates the ability to apply these skills to a business problem to drive results.
  • Good working knowledge of Data Science and its applications for data intensive industries.
  • Must be able to travel - Domestic and international
