Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are....
Reporting to the Distribution COO, the role, working with the Distribution Head and their senior distribution leadership will drive the creation, documenting and tracking of the EMEA Distribution strategy and key business objectives.
You will be expected to use your knowledge and skill set to influence the shape of the strategy, especially in key industry trend areas such as Responsible Investing, Digital engagement, industry consolidation and pricing.
You will lead an existing team of 3 and will develop the business management function to offer a key range of services around, competitive analysis, sales strategy and planning, governance and reporting and ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities
How you'll spend your time....
- Work with the relevant stakeholders to construct the Distribution 3-5-year strategic view
- Construct the yearly Distribution business plan, including business projections, capital expenditure and operating expenses
- Drive Distribution Responsible Investment strategy, contributing to the overall RI Enterprise strategy
- Line management of the research team as well as an existing business manager (4 FTEs)
- Produce quality written reports and presentations, suitable for senior leadership level review, for Business Line Reviews, Board reports and committee's senior leader briefings, and business proposals
- Construct 'go to market' strategies, identifying new opportunities and competitive advantage to drive new revenues
- Construct and track all key metrics that drive business performance
- Provide market, product and competitor insights to support client facing teams
- Manage the operating expenses and departmental budget
- Manage projects on behalf the Distribution leadership team
- Work closely with the product development team and other strategic and planning functions
- Conduct research, carry out ad-hoc external benchmarking and maintain industry knowledge and insight to feed into Distribution management team
- Respond to questions from across the business on behalf of the Distribution COO and Head of Distribution
- Participate in the Distribution management team meetings and offsites, preparing agendas and looking for more effective ways of working
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have....
- A proven track record in similar strategy and planning roles, a consultancy background would be an advantage
- You will be a good leader, able to motivate and drive a team through periods of change
- Experience in Asset Management or Financial services, ideally around distribution
- Experience in Responsible Investing and its application to distribution
- The ability to produce quality outputs whilst working under pressure with conflicting priorities and short deadlines
- High numerate and analytical skills and will be capable of analysing significant amounts of data and capturing or summarising relevant information
- Highly articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Trusted with confidential information
- Confident and comfortable with senior management and must be able to develop collaborative relationships with internal teams globally
- Proactive, able to take initiative
- Able to manage projects from time to time, including cross-functionally and those that involve senior management
- Solid understanding of the regulation and risk management
