Job description

Our client is a prominent international chemical manufacturer, specialising within the automotive sector. As a result of their ongoing success, they are now looking for a Head of Production to join their Greater London based team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced production specialist, with a can-do attitude and a proven track record of success, to make an impact and support the company's ambitious plans for growth.
The Role
The Head of Production is responsible for leading production operations in order to fulfil customer orders within the given timeframe, while also ensuring that quality and company standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing the scheduling and blending of production lines
*
Ensuring production lines meet targets and support business growth in an effective and sustainable manor
*
Lead the production improvement initiative to ensure that production is able to facilitate the delivery of the company's business strategy
*
Produce, utilise and report on production KPIs to help improve performance and inform both the Director and the wider leadership team
*
Managing the production operations in an efficient and a cohesive manner within staffing limits
*
Ensuring all procedures and work instructions are adhered to and upholding the criteria of workmanship for all processes involved
*
Responsible for the engagement and development of production staff consistent with company values and internal processes
*
Manage the production budget to include resourcing, machines and equipment upgrades, overtime etc

Key Requirements for this role:

Previous experience within a similar role

Excellent people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate
*
Results oriented with a can-do attitude
*
Committed to delivering exceptional customer service
*
An understanding of OEE measurement and improvement techniques
*
Working knowledge of 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing principles
*
Experience of Health & Safety management within a production environment
*
An improvement orientated mindset
*
Able to perform and deliver within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
