This is a fully remote role and so we would welcome applicants from all over the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, Nottingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh

A leading player in the insurance sector is currently recruiting for a Tax Manager to join their Group Tax Controllership team. You will join a sub-team of 4 people as part of a larger tax team of 10 people, working fully remotely from around the UK. This position will be focused on tax reporting and compliance responsibilities for the group and so will require a candidate who has a strong practical and hands-on background in tax accounting and compliance.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Group Tax Controller in the delivery of tax accounting and tax reporting to Senior Management, including deputising for Group Tax Controller where needed;
• Liaising with non UK compliance providers and International Tax Senior Manager for CbCR reporting
• Oversight of all UK corporation tax payments and repayments
• Management of s455 reporting to HMRC
• Supporting Group tax consolidation improvements
• Preparing quarterly tax payment calculations using forecast and actuals data, liaising with relevant Finance and HR teams to obtain non corporation tax information
• Collating documentation for UK tax compliance requirements
• Preparing corporate and deferred tax calculations for some UK entities company statutory accounts including drafting required note disclosures
• Preparing corporate tax computations
• Filing of UK corporation tax returns and related returns / forms (including CIR and group relief)
• Maintaining and updating SAO documentation
• Clearing up entities for liquidation
• Preparing corporate tax computations using Alphatax
