PwC's Insurance Tax team is the market leader in the provision of tax services to the UK insurance market. The team works nationally, centred in London with practices in Edinburgh, Leeds and Bristol.
The Insurance Tax team is offering an exciting opportunity to join its growing team. The role will require an ability to work as part of a team delivering a range of tax services to the insurance market. A strong background in corporate tax is required with experience of tax advisory work, tax compliance and tax accounting. An insurance background is beneficial but not essential.
The Insurance Tax team provides tax services to all sectors of the insurance market, including general insurers, life & health insurers, reinsurance carriers, brokers and the Lloyd's of London market. Clients include the biggest names in UK insurance, as well as the largest European, US and Bermudan groups. Alongside the top tier insurance groups, the team work with a large number of medium sized businesses and start-ups.
The role will be focused on working with other team members to deliver a wide range of corporate tax services to our insurance clients. There will be opportunities to develop a deep knowledge and experience of the insurance sector and get exposure to a wider variety of areas of tax including mergers & acquisitions, international tax, finance & treasury tax, tax audits and group restructuring.
The role will involve working closely with other tax professionals within the team and at our insurance clients, providing significant development opportunities that arise in working in a market leading team
The Insurance Tax team works nationally with teams in London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Bristol. Whilst we are location agnostic it is expected that the successful candidate will be willing to spend time with clients and colleagues in multiple locations.
Essential skills
ACA/ATT/CTA qualification or equivalent (or working towards)
Strong UK corporate tax background
Experience of working on tax compliance and tax advisory assignments
Good tax accounting knowledge
An ability to communicate effectively both with colleagues and senior stakeholders
A desire to take advantage of new opportunities for learning, sharing knowledge; and thinking creatively
Desirable skills
A track record of delivering quality work for clients
A knowledge of the insurance market
